THE ZONE OF INTEREST

Hedvig i Rudolf Hes žive sa svojom decom u kući iz snova, okruženoj idiličnom baštom i živopisnim jezerom gde se članovi porodice kupaju i uživaju u pikniku. Povremeni krici, pucnji i buka, koji se čuju preko ograde, ne utiču na njih u njihovom malom raju. Naprotiv, nacistički komandant Rudolf Hes vrlo ceni to što radi pored kuće. Jer neposredno iza baštenskog zida njegove kuće nalazi se koncentracioni logor Aušvic.Hedwig and Rudolf Höss live with their children in a dream house – surrounded by an idyllic garden and a picturesque lake where families bathe and picnic in peace. The occasional screams, gunshots and oven noises are of no consequence to them in their own little paradise. On the contrary, as a Nazi commander, Rudolf Höss appreciates his short commute to work. For directly behind the garden wall of his magnificent house is the Auschwitz concentration camp.

DŽONATAN GLEJZER / JONATHAN GLAZER

Jonathan Glazer (London, 1965) has combined his career as a filmmaker with directing videos for bands including Radiohead, Massive Attack, Jamiroquai and Blur. In 2000 he made his feature debut, Sexy Beast an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee for Best Supporting Actor (Ben Kingsley). The second, Birth (2004), competed at Venice and garnered the Golden Globe nominations for its leading lady, Nicole Kidman. He competed yet again at Venice with Under the Skin (2013), considered by Cahiers du Cinéma to be one of the 10 top movies to come out of the 2010s. With The Zone of Interest (2023), he won the Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes.
