Nataša Bučar

Nataša Bučar is a Managing Director of Slovenian Film Center, public agency of the Republic of Slovenia since 2016. She has been working in film industry for more than 20 years. For several years she has been managing Ljubljana International Film Festival, the largest international film festival in Slovenia. At the same time she was running film distribution activities inside Cankarjev dom, an independent arthouse distribution in Slovenia. In the past she gained experiences as the Director of the Festival of Slovenian Films in Portorož, as Assistant Director of the Slovenian Film Fund and as the General Director of the Media Directorate at the slovenian Ministry of Culture. In 2016 she worked in Kinodvor, the arthouse cinema in Ljubljana and at the end of that same year she has been appointed as the Managing Director of Slovenian Film Center. She has been reappointed as the head of the main slovenian film institution for another 5 years term in December 2021. She is a strong promoter of gender balance in the film industry and also the initiator of the development award for best female driven project at the Sarajevo Film Festivals industry programme. She is a member of the Board of EFAD, European Film Agency Directors Association as well as member of EFA, European Film Accademy.
