Serbia · Documentary · 77 MIN · Serbian, English, German

    Dir. Aleksandra Mitić, Nikola Đurović

The film explores how Belgrade remembers and forgets the Old Fairgrounds (Staro Sajmište), a site where suffering, art, and decades of unresolved history intertwine.

Built in the 1930s as a modern fairground complex, it was conceived as a symbol of progress and optimism. With World War II, its purpose changed dramatically — Staro Sajmište became a concentration camp, a site of imprisonment, suffering, and death. After the war, a new chapter began: artists moved into the former fairground pavilions, forming a kind of artists’ colony, while the wider area was increasingly left to neglect and decay over the following decades.
