Act One

Hannah Parker, an innocent and sheltered seventeen-year-old, lives for the stage. But when she doesn’t get a part in the school play, her dreams of becoming an actress seem out of reach — until she discovers Act One Studios. Melanie Sonders, the studio’s charismatic founder, recognizes something special in Hannah.

She introduces Hannah to “The Group” — an elite collective of intensely devoted actors preparing for a major performance Melanie claims will change their lives. As opening night approaches, Melanie’s training grows more intense. As the line between acting and reality blurs, Hannah discovers how far she’s willing to go to become the artist Melanie promised she could be.
