The 53rd International Film Festival FEST runs from October 2 to 11, 2026. This year’s slogan will be “FEST – Love That Lasts.” It’s a distinctive slogan drawn from the title of Dinko Tucaković’s film (“Belgrade and FEST: Love That Lasts”), made for the festival’s 30th edition. The slogan describes the decades-long bond between Belgrade audiences and this iconic film festival, running since 1971.
The catchphrase celebrates the passion for the seventh art, the loyalty of generations of viewers, and FEST’s status as one of the most significant cultural events in the region. This year it serves as the official motto of the festival’s 53rd edition.
Dinko Tucaković (1960–2013) was a prominent film and television director and screenwriter, longtime head of the Yugoslav Film Archive Museum, film critic, theorist and historian, chairman of the FEST Council, and the driving force behind numerous film events.
He worked as a selector for several national film festivals and served on the FIPRESCI jury in Cannes, Berlin, Vienna, and elsewhere. He won multiple awards at national film festivals. His work made an enormous contribution to FEST’s development. Dinko Tucaković’s final feature film, “Dr. Ray and the Devils,” closed the landmark 40th FEST in 2012.

Since its founding in 1971, FEST has never been just a film showcase — it has been a phenomenon that shaped generations of film lovers. That’s why the slogan “FEST – Love That Lasts” is a fitting reminder of the emotion audiences have nurtured toward this festival across generations.
