MALENA ČOI / MALENE CHOI
Malene Choi (1973) was adopted from South Korea and grew up in Denmark. In 2005, she graduated from the National Film School of Denmark’s documentary programme. Her debut feature The Return (2018) had its world premiere in Bright Future at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where it received the Special Mention. Later, it has been screened at several festivals around the world, winning the FIPRESCI Prize - Special Mention at the Göteborg Film Festival and the Best Film Award at the Valladolid International Film Festival.
